    Hi there
Just bought a quite nice Mk 4 Golf, auto, with 140000 kms on it. About to do a service and wonder should I have the auto trans fluid changed [having just lunched the auto in my Caravelle, I'm a little paranoid to say the least...] i have heard the ATF fluid requires a computer to do the refill - any thoughts ?
Also there is a mild whine, from what sounds like the diff, under load - is this typical in the experience of fellow owners ?
Oh, and while I'm asking - is there a chip out there which gives both more power and better economy [only getting 7.5 - 9.5 l/100km [country-city]?
    Cheers
    Phil

    Welcome Phil

If its a simple task to change the ATF I'd have it done.

    Good Luck.
