  • An adapter most dubbers should consider making

After having to jack up my Car a little bit with my Widow Maker Jack (see fig1) to be able to fit my 3 tonne floor jack under a safe jacking point under the car ie subframe etc.

i got pissed off with having to do this all the time and not wanting jack the car up with a roud fitting on my 3 tonner that would damage my Sill Seams under the car

I went and made a Adapter for my 3 Tonne Jack.. its a worth while little investment for the benefits and ease it will offer

i had the frickin Widow Maker Jack twist and collapse last night when i was changing a Tyre and the arch lining thankfully i had already had the wheel bolted back on.. but unfortunatly the car destroyed one of my jackstands as it lunged forwards

(it was during the stages of me lowering the carback to the ground.. this is why i didnt have my 3 tonner underneath any longer for the previous saftey purchases

so now im minus one jack stand and im throwing away the bulls**t arse Widow maker jack

    Nifty little adapter i made

    Nice work Hitman

It annoys the crap outta me having to use "the widow maker" to pre-jack the car up enough to get a proper jack under it, and I don't even have side skirts fitted yet!

I use a Protech Products Side Lift Jack Pad with my floor jack. Works brilliantly and was only $21.00

The side lift jack pad makes lifting your late model cars easy. Simply place on your floor jack and lift at the pinch weld. No more hassle with the factory scissor jack.

                Cheers Al

I would be keen too, except does the pad sit on top of the "cup" or does it screw into the jack?
