You won't be able to fit original RS4's the stud pattern is different anyway, so just look out for the best deal on a nice set of RS4 reps with tires

Correct: original RS4 are 5x112, so no good there. But both the earlier and split-spoke RS4 replicas come in 5x100.

        Thanks

Thinking of going to a set of sport springs (-15mm) just to clean up the looks and handling. Going too low not only effects the ride but also your resale. And while -60mm may look great, it's not for me

Looking to de-badge the rear too, as some trainspotters may have noticed the missing V6 grille badge since I swapped the main VW grille emblem?

Then all that's missing is a nice tint and a fat rear bar and I'm done.

that looks really nice, good choice

btw a 15mm drop will still have it riding like a tractor. definitely needs some 3" lovin!

hahaha. nah seriously, you only have to lower the back.

the front will be weighed down enough by all the piping and the huge intercooler and turbo to come right...?

                Thanks lads.

-15mm will be more than enough to keep it looking good and offer improved handling benefits. Besides, a chunky rear bar will do more than 3" of lowering. In fact, the bar will do more even if I decide not to change the springs (3" !! )

And after destroying a Club Spec 3 WRX last night, I don't think a turbo and intercooler are really necessary

Hahah maybe. But I got 'the look', so I was away.

                          Side marker lenses also swapped

Went for a black body and clear lens, mid-way between the previous full smoked and OEM full crystal.

                            New Year mods

What better way to start the New Year than with some new mods?

Finally had the time to get the car away to have the tint done, and what a difference it has made to keeping the car much, much cooler. Doesn't look half bad, either.

Also got around to turfing the skanky original gear boot and fitting my MOMO Air Tecno leather gaiter.

I love how it says 'Universal Fit' because it was a right royal PITA to get it to fit properly. I'm sure getting an original black leather and silver A4 1.8T kit (gearknob, gaiter and trim) would have been much easier, but $330 OEM Vs $40 eBay meant persevering with this one was well worth it!

So after some cursing, much headscratching and 2 hours of mucking around, I have to say it almost looks OEM eh? Gives the interior a great lift too.

Also got the one and only JMac to fit a 70a Powerflex dog bone (yellow) and the improvement could not have been more significant or worthwhile. There is now virtually no movement in the front end (compared to OEM of course) and the engine now feels even more elastic and responsive than before thanks to far less loss of drive. Very little in the way of NVH too.

Thanks again for your advice and recommendation on this one JMac, 'twas well worth it m'boy!

The Bora looks great mate, I can't believe that I've never stumbled across this before. Thanks for the well written intro and car diary, it was great to read.

I've just gotten an 04 Golf Sport in the same black as yours, and was looking into tint and indicators too. Is there any reason you replaced the full tinted side indicators with the black body/clear lense then (from what I can see ) went back to stock? Do the aftermarket ones not put enough light out?

I am also wondering what percentage your tint is, and where it was done if you don't mind sharing.

Looks great, sorry for all the questions, but our taste in VWs is strangely similar .

The Bora is looking fantastic. It'd be great on some coil overs I was also going to ask why you changed the indicators back; I liked the black/dark theme you had going. How much did the dogbone cost you?

Oh thanks for the badge by the way It looks a treat!
