If anyone wants to come and see my car for proof, they're very welcome. I have upgraded my wiper ARMS to aero wiper ARMS for THIRTY FIVE dollars and they wipe the windscreen dry. Louis (soundofav6) has these as well and his have been going strong for a long time, according to Ray.
In my opinion (i felt the need to spell it out), it is an absolute complete waste of money to splurge for the arms as well. They'll be doing the same thing, so you really only need to purchase the upgraded 'aero style' blade assembly to get fantastic results.
Say what mate? You said you replaced the ARMS for 35 bucks but then you say it's a complete waste of money to splurge on the arms as well.
I want the whole wiper arms and blades - for functionality as well as aesthetics.

Well, I took Mrk Mickey's advice, and investigated the Bosch wipers further.
Found out that unlike what my VW buddy and all the wreckers i visited said, the aero wipers DO fit the pre 2000 arms. Instead of forking out dough at VW or over the net (my wipers were driving me crazy, i needed them now!!) I went down to supercheap and found the "Bosch aerotwin" (also known as Bosch ICON elsewhere I believe) replacement wiper heads.
Now, $40 later I am a VERY satisfied convert, these new wipers are great!! $80 from VW for just the wiper blades? Not f**king likely mate!!

Bugger, I normally keep all my car invoices... looks like i was lazy and missed the one for those. Was going to check the part numbers hoping they didn't rip me off with some generic crap. I did specifically ask for aero wiper replacements though...
I Bought the Bosche ones from Supercheep. They were listed for a Mk4 Golf, but fitted my Audi A4 perfectly. I was complaining about $70 for a pair of wipers, but they are so awesome, i`m still smiling. Totally worth the money.

Yeah, that's where I went to get the aero wipers, $40 per side for the blades, $60 each for the wiper arms.
