Number of your MK4 R32

I know only 200 made it to Australia...how do i find out what number mine is?

There should be a small metal plate attached to the interior in the space at the front of the ashtray where the handbrake comes down. It will be engraved on that with the number going vertically down.

Also the Rs came with two R keyrings with the number engraved similar to the interior plate as well as an R pen and R umbrella. I believe the pen and umbrella came with the car and the keyrings were sent to the original owner by VW Australia. I'd hit up the previous or original owner to find out what happened to all of these and if they don't know follow up with VW Australia which is what I am doing at the moment.

So you don't have any of the gear! That sucks to be taking the plate off from the interior as well.

Hey guys,

I also don't know the number of my .:R.

Is there any way of finding out? as I didn't get the plaque nor the other cool nifty stuff.

I tried getting the dealer to contact the previous owner, but unsuccessful in getting any information so I gave up

Tried VW, yep no luck!!

At the end of the day my .:R is an .:R so all good

Yes 150 R32's came with the plates signifying number of production, the other 50 like mine did not come with a badge on the inside But i do know mine is number 133, it doesn't matter the numbers aren't true production numbers as the .:R is made alongside any of the other 4 motion volkswagens at any one time. It's more of a marketing thing

My one is number 57 with all badges!...To be honest marketing or not iam glad ive got the badge sayin wat number it is......

Good stuff. How did you track that down? If it was through Volkswagen Australia how did you contact them? I sent them an email over a week ago and they still haven't got back to me.

no 144. All i have is the plate. I'll have to get the previous owner, but he is in queensland (that's the address in the books)
