  • Bora V6 4motion oxygen sensor B2 S1 Location

    Hi Gents,
My Bora has crazy high fuel consumption and now I am getting this error:

    17516 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B2 S1
    P1108 - 35-10 - Performance too Low - Intermittent
    Readiness: 0010 1001

Any idea what that readiness code means?
Should I just have the front O2 Sensor changed and that will fix the issue?

And any idea where B2 S1 is located?

    Thanks

    Bank 2, sensor 1.

I believe it is the sensor on the passenger's side of the manifold, closest to the cylinder head.

Exhaust manifold is on the rear side of the engine.

Try swapping the two 02 sensors over and see if the error shifts to Bank 1. If so then good chance the sensor needs replacing or maybe a clean.

If the error stays at Bank 2 then it's not the sensor and could be plug that the 02 sensor connects too.

              That's a very good idea
Too bad I am terrible with mechanical stuff and don't really think I'll be able to do that

Gonna ask a mechanic to do this test for me before ordering a new one

                Hi Mate
Couldn't help not to tell you that all of those errors I was getting for O2 Sensors and fuel consumption had nothing to do with the sensors. Had my car checked by a guy who wasn't even a professional mechanic. He was a bora ex-owner and had some parts and wires in his garage.
He checked all the wires and replaced some, it runs much better now with a fuel consumption of at least 500 KM per tank in city.

I was getting 350 KM before

500per is pretty good I think for city driving. I used to get 430 - 450 on 98.

Do you know exactly what he did?

                    Yeah..it is
Well I was standing right beside him all the time. He went through all the connections and cables, changed the broken and loose ones.
I was getting the smell of petrol in the car before..but it's all gone now.
