    Hey guys

Thought I would post a pic of my car with the minimal mods I've done so far. BTW the interior is beige leather in perfect condition - looks good with the black paint I reckon

    The mods:

    - 19 x 8.5 inch ASA JH8 wheels - with Yokohama S.Drive 235/35/19
    - KW V2 coilovers (custom rear setup)
    - Pioneer 7 inch touch screen DVD unit with full ipod video integration
    - DieselGeek skid plate
    - Kamei grill
    - K&N air filter.

I only just put the 19s on the other day after they were shipped in from the US. They look decent but I'm still undecided whether I will keep them or put Oettinger RE 17s back on...

Fairly happy with the way the car has turned out so far. Needs more lowering though I think. Opinions??

P.S sorry for the crappy pic lol

Those wheels look great! You think you need more lowering???? That is pretty damn low already. Surely any lower would have a seriously negative effect on handling.
BTW, do you mind me asking what the wheels cost you landed?

sukebe, I got the wheels through Tire Rack - thanks for the heads up about them!

Landed cost was only ~$1800 plus customs/import taxes

Try getting 19s locally from somewhere like Tempe or Ozzy for your MKIV. Firstly good luck finding wheels in 5x100 that actually look good, and enjoy the crap tyres that come with them lol

As for the lowering bit, it handles decently even at this height. Ultimately I would like to run some massive camber in the rear and drop it another 20mm. We'll see how we go

The wheels took less than two weeks to arrive. Very impressed with how smoothly it all went.

It won't be easy going any lower in the front. I'll post pics later of where the tyres from my Oettinger 17s were rubbing... and it's much worse now with the 19s.

Doesn't scare me though. I've got some ideas

Here's a close up view of the tyre tuck from side on:

Oh yeah nice man! That's sweet. No need to go any lower than that.

You've got me looking at wheel+tyre package from tirerack.com now! Have you got a run down of the prices? i.e. wheels, tyres, freight, customs, taxes etc.

Freight charge was US$315. Customs + taxes was around A$370. Your bank will also charge you ~$30 for international bank wire transfer. Still ends up cheaper than buying locally, and you get a great selection of wheels and tyres to choose from.

I believe you can avoid most of the customs/taxes fees if you split up your shipment into two parts so they're valued at less than $1,000 each. But then you would be paying more for shipping... so may not be worth the hassle.

Be quick if you're keen, the Aussie dollar is starting to slide a bit! I made my order when it was at 0.96

Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I didn't realise it had dropped back to 90 cents already. Bloody 'ell!

Now to find a wheel I really like... BBS LMs are way too much
