Mk4 GTI windscreen / rain sensor ?

Hi All,

I've got a cracked windscreen and there is $100 difference between a replacement with and without rain sensor.

How do I tell if my GTI as a rain sensor ?

The sensor is in the base of the rear view mirror (the gel pad part that connects to the windscreen).

GTI's didn't come with rain sensing wipers in Australia. R32's and maybe Bora V6 did.

As above, the sensors are part of the rear view mirror and they have a power cable (in conduit) that connects to the headliner area. A GTI mirror won't have this.

Just to confirm the Bora V6 comes with rain sensors..for future reference..

For reference - Able Windscreens in sydney - $250 installed at my place. Chinese windscreen , but it is laminated and you can see through it
