VR6 Auto to Manual conversion?

    Careful, Them's be fightin words yarrrr! Hahaha

    I guess I'm too used to driving manual now that I'd hate to own an auto of any kind. Houso is definitely right about the "it's still a VR!" bit. Auto just means you can't rip it as hard..

    ..but they rip plenty hard enough!

      Yes, but surely you agree that the 01M transmission as used in the VR6 is a horrible box and costs lots to rebuild??

      My take on it is that there are lots of super tidy autos out there which have been gently driven by girls and lots of the manuals have been flogged by generations of boy racers. Thus get a real tidy auto and convert it for the best of everything.

      Brisben, Mk1 conversion is easy. $1500 I reckon

        Bargain, what about an engine conversion ?

        So many options, I suppose whatever is easiest to obtain.

        Any suggestions ?

        I have no desire for anything in particular, just reliability, ease of part availability and more grunt

          Brisben, your engine is already pretty good, i`d just whack a cam in and smile.
