Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK3 headlights

    Hi all,
I recently purchased a mk3 with a cooked motor and another from salvage. I've completed replacing the 2.0l and converting to manual. When reattaching the nose cone the front I noticed the inner part of the headlights are loose. I've disassembled 1 of the headlights and found both adjusters are broken and too brittle to repair/glue. On searching, I can find plenty of adjusters for mk2's on ebay and bmw's etc, but nothing for the mk3 Golf.
Does anyone know if the plastic adjusters are available, or do I need to purchase new headlights ?

I have not come across the Mk3 headlight plastic adjuster being sold separately. Replacement Mk3 headlights can be easily found on ebay. Good luck with getting it on the road, always nice to see more Mk3s on the road.

Think you can buy aftermarket billet ones. They are a few dollars though from memory
