  • VR6 MFA Numbers

Right you guys with VR6s, what fuel consuption do you get according to your MFA. On the wifes VR6 Passat Auto, I get 14 sometimes if driving enthusiastically and 10.00 is my best ever.

Seriously thinking about a manual conversion as the power is there, but its just too slow to pick up.

Give me some figures to dazzle the girl with!

Yeah well the Passat is heavier than a golf, but not much, but it is auto. Just put 17s on it too which will prob effect the speedo and mfa too!

              my vr6:

heavy sydney traffic - 25-30km/h stop start = high 13's-14

              freeway - high 8's

They've got a really thirsty idle. For any city drive they'll use a third less at four in the morning.

Less delays at 4 in the morning too though!

                    MkIII VR6

This is for my MkIII Golf VR6 - manual.

                    City driving - 11 to 13 l/100km
                    Highway - 8 - 9 l/100km

It obviously depends on how hard it's driven, but over a tank it generall averages out to be 11 l/100km and that's with quite a bit more city than highway driving. I've seen highway driving down in the 7s, but that's rare.

I did notice that when I had the GIAC chip installed, that gave me 1l/100km _better_ fuel consumption, and the same benefit from changing from roadstone tyres that were on it when I got it, to some nice Yokohamas...

I didn't buy a VR6 to get fuel economy, I bought for fun.Often I see 86l/100km on the dash readout when I'm having fun! Sometimes alittle less.
