g,day just sold my mk2 gti and need to follow up on suspension just for the front !! is that possible or would i have to cater for the back as well ? cos i think the back end looks low enough with the vr6 concept wheels and nexen rubber. but there is to much arch at the front any suggestions would be kool.......
I'm assuming both front and rear suspensions are currently stock items? If you're changing the fronts, you might be better off changing the rears as well. Otherwise, dampening and spring rates will not match well and can be undesirable or cause undesirable characteristics in the car's handling. The rears may be low compared to the front cos of spring sag over many years of use(not sure about this). Most lowering kits are bought as a front+rear bundle anyway.
thats what i thought too, i have about 800 to spend any idea where to go for a balanced ride, but not too hard as i would think if it was too hard it will knock electrics and all that around.....
sounds good, will get in touch with him.... just fixed my starter moter yesterday which has been sticking in on the key as you turn it .... shoved some greese and crc in the springs and bingo , had been like that since the car was converted by camden(golfloon) so really it isnt a hard job if that happens around the dubbers , all really just have to replace the front windscreen on monday for 220 and thats it >>> 3000 for a 96 concept hey 1 of 20 they say ?, but for electrics its a bit dodgy ? dash lights, and cruise control , abs works ..........
I'd definitely go with Robin's coils. Ask Lorenz and Mischa, they're so perfect for the money considering they're just a nip over what it would cost for lowered springs etc!
