Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk3 vr6 3 door!

Just picked up a green mk3 3 door for $950.
found the owner from 3 years ago and also found out the conversion was done by Camden gti.
Need to replace a cv shaft before it goes for blueslip, changing all the fluids and spark plugs as soon as this weather goes.
I do have plans to turbo it eventually! Would be cool to meet some more people with mk3s in Newcastle/Sydney region.

You'll fit right in mate, everyone drools over 3 doors and it's a VR6!

Nice work! I was eagerly watching this one on gumtree. Need to get rid of my cabby before getting a 2 door though... Too many cars

Glad to see you on here. I also inspected the car when it was for sale a couple of weeks back, hope it all goes well.

Will be flogging off my 2 door with no motor and box if anyone is interested. Currently the seats are out but I can provide.
Has rust holes under passenger side rear window and would need a section welded in.

Nice buy mate you couldn't build one for a quarter of the cost you paid. Are you planning on coming to VW Nationals in May? Also is this Jamie's [Jamie88] old 3 door by the way?

And give Matt a ring or take it around to him at Camden GTI when you're in Sydney I'm sure he'd be happy to see one of his bastard creations back in the shop [either that or start cursing at it lol]. He'll be at VW Nationals too btw.

                            Hey Tim,
Definitely coming to VW nationals. And yes it in Jamie's old one I've been chatting to him asking questions about it etc. I've got the front end apart replacing a cv axle, wheel bearings and brakes. It will be registered next week I can't wait. Got an awesome deal and can't wait to make it tidy again. Will definitely be worth the trip to Camden GTI as well, I'd love to hear more about it.

Also painting the front bumper, bonnet etc before VW nationals.

Love your build also man. I'll be boosting this one soon. Only stock internals running 8psi roughly, not sure what turbo yet.
