Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Was about to pull trigger on some 195/50/15 Pilot Sport 3, but just remembered to check the load rating and they are only 82 (as are most 195/50 i've realised) so may instead just get some Hankook H457 Ventus 2 Concept 2 in 205/50/15 86 which is what the VR6 needs.

farout i knew it was too good to be true to be able to get cheap sticky tires

looking at maybe some Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 in 205/50/15 to try and maintain original sizing so as to not much around with the speedo which i'm wary for since my bro drives this most and don't want him getting done for doing a few km over the speed limit.
Yeah but wouldn't a 195/50 have a smaller circumference, meaning the speedo would read slightly faster than actual?

So speedo may read 63 km when really doing 60 (just a guess, I've not bothered with the actual calcs )

Yeah I did the calcs and 195/50/15 does work out to be in my favour but most of them are 82 load rated instead of 86 and I'm worried that if anything happens insurance may refuse the claim since it's not correctly rated.

Just bought 4x Hankook H457 Ventus 2 Concept 2 at JAX in Artarmon Sydney with a wheel alignment for $500 and it falls under the new Hankook Promo so i can claim a $100 gift card back.

Pretty good deal i thought, no AD08R but at less than half the price it'll suit fine for a daily
