  • VR6 Tires - What have you got now or what should i get?

Need new tires and an alignment for the VR6 soon, so was wondering what people are running or what you guys would recommend?

Car is just a daily, this car doesn't get tracked or driven very fast but would appreciate a good feel and have decent cornering grip.

Car was purchased with a set of crappy Nankangs which i can't wait to get rid of and doing some research shows that the 205/50/15 is an odd size and many tires aren't available for it.

Any tire recommendations and if you wouldn't mind sharing how much you paid for them so i can get a ball park figure that would be great.

I've just put a set of Yokohama AD08R 205/50/15 on my 98 VR6, best thing I've ever done, wet or dry the thing flys now, have had to learn how to drive the car again as every corner can be taken twice as fast now, plus they look excellent! I got mine installed at Jax Spinning Wheels in Waterloo who were fantastic...

wow nice stuff, AD08R are awesome but for my car would be overkill and is over my budget unfortunately too.

Called around and have been recommended the Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 H457 for approx $130each but i'm unsure...

He suggested dropping to 195/55/50 to open up a lot more tires but i've read that they may scrub a bit if your car is lowered which mine is...

Will call around again in the afternoon..

ah ok, that's actually really good to know!

how does the look compare 195/55 vs 205/50?

195/50/15 opens the options up alot and is cheaper if comparing same pattern / brand

nankangs are great for the $$. yours are probably old, which any tyre is going to be rubbish once it gets tired

according to the sticker on the fuel flap 205/50 are what should be fitted to the standard BBS rims...

Here's a few photos though it's probably a little hard to see against the black. These are the Yokohama AD08R 205/50/15

man those AD08rs look sweet, but would be such overkill for my car... that and their cost....

looking at maybe some Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 in 205/50/15 to try and maintain original sizing so as to not much around with the speedo which i'm wary for since my bro drives this most and don't want him getting done for doing a few km over the speed limit.
