  • VR6 Tyres

Since the other threads here are more than 5 years old thought I'd start a new one.
I'm aware that 205/50R15 are what I need for the VR6, have no idea what brand to go with. Also, previous owner would replace the front only and rotate the front wheels to the back before they didn't have any tread left. Is that ok?
Can I use different spec tyres?
    Not looking for anything special.

Car currently has Roadstone N2000 (Apparently is now called Nexen) on the front and DURO DP3000 on the rear.

Tyres that I've found so far with above specs:

    Kuhmo
    • SPT KU31
    • XS KU36

    Nexen
    • N'Blue HD
    • Classe Premiere CP661

    Maxxis MA-V1 Surpasa

    Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 H457

    Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002

    Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico

    ------------

Has anyone used the K-Mart Tyre & Auto service in Greensborough? I have 5% off there and wondering how good they are and price competitive

You can have different brand/pattern front to rear but not different across axles if that answers one of your questions

      I've got Toyos on mine.
they smoke good that's all I know.

I will often do similar and cycle the half worn tyres to the back and freshen the front ones.
means only replacing a pair at a time if you can stagger the wear front vs back.

I can get Toyo Proxes T1R for $185.25 each, need to wait to have them sent in as they don't have stock. They also sell Proxes 4, but read mixed reviews.

I have the Potenza RE002's on my VR6 and they're fantastic. They stick like glue.
