  • Brake pad replacement.

    Getting new pads on thursday (simply replaycment, no upgrade ) Anything i need to know about replacing them? What brake fluid is recamended?


    PS the car is a 95 VR6. with 288mm fronts.

    Its a basic replcement nothing to hard you should be able to handle it ok, As for fluid your car DOT 2 or DOT 3 fluid it should say on brake resovoir cap good luck.

            Hey mate. You need to borrow a special tool to wind back the pistons in the rear calipers. RH thread on both.

              I just did front pads and rotors on my vr6 if you buy cheapish pads they don't come with the " brake pad wear senders" its not an issue just the light stays on on the dash you will see when you pull the old pads out a wire connecting to the pads, thats of course if its still there and someone has already done it for you which is cool, but if the wire is still there just cut it and connect both wires together and tape them up or take the bulb out the dash

                just finnished. the pads came with the sensors, but my car doesn't, so no worries. I know they arn't bedded in proply yet, but they don't feel as strong as the old ones.

                I'll keep you posted.
