How I want them to look at the end of the refurb but with either gold or silver centres, but I'm buckling down for grade 12 exams for the next 4-6 weeks so we will see how it goes before I can put some proper work into them.

Bad news for the polished lips. Managed to strip one down and it seems to be power coated a light cream color. Unhappy because no polished lips and they aren't 2/3 piece so I can't disassemble them to get polished lips. Not experienced enough to know what to do next, any help? I don't know what I should do next, Either find a way to chrome ?? the lips or something or either just paint them silver/gold.

Stripped the rims off the tyres today, they seem to be in good shape but haven't run them yet.

Left paint stripper on the lips for more then 4 hours but it just ended up doing nothing, but then I starting seeing specks of shiny.
Forgot about the wheel weights (doh!) which revealed, SHINY. Rest of the black stuff is the adhesive from the wheel weights. Going to hit it with a sander this weekend and see what happens.

More and more research turns out that these are ET12, yikes, Looks like I'll be having fun fitting them.

Stripper needs to come off within like 10 minutes. When it drys the paint goes hard again.

Finished QCS today (grade 12 exams) so I have some more time to spend on the rims. I pulled the old mags off so that I can use the 195/50's that are on them for these new ones. Picking up the new - nondentedfromcrashingintothefence parts this week hopefully.
Had a go with a sander today and gotta say I am very pleased with the results. Rest of the rims should be painted hopefully this weekend. Super excited to see how they will fit with new tyres and an allround great setup hopefully.

Neither can I, Got the new bonnet and fender off Jmac yesterday and threw it on. He wants to see what et12 will look like on the golf too.
Amazing how clean the car looks now compared to with the peely bonnet.

So far I have exams this week and next week I have 3 weeks off so time for some hard work on the car.
Rims have been sanded on the lips, Next is prime and paint the centres using my uncles compressor then wack the tyres on.
Super excited to see how it will fit overall,
