There was one on eBay a few months ago, just keep your eyes peeled and you might get lucky.

Also thanks again mattross! Checked out my rear window switches and pulled back the rubber boot.

Found split wiring, so I reconnected it and heat wrapped it... All working perfectly.

Just waiting for these regulators now and I'm set!

If you just want to quit, I have a Golf CL sitting here doing nothing, could part out the manual windows, have considered putting them in the VR.

Drivers Rear: sound like my problem, this is where the spooler wire is not tensioning correctly or jammed and the motor reverses out. Or the wire clip has snapped off and the wire is hanging around in the frame and gets caught on the glass window holders clamps.... but as it doesn't occur from the drivers controls i'd say that this is an electrical issue. The Motor has a lot of electrical pins, and its common for the solder joints to fail, but if i were you and handy with a voltmeter i'd try the switch first. Its 4 pins, so (assuming here) 1 is for + or neg, 1 is powers the LED, the other two are up and down. Disconnect the drivers controls and bridge the lock out is also worth a try. Lights on and off testing also.
Thanks man, will have to dig in and take the door trims off & have a more thorough look at whats going on. Will report back once that happens.

Don't suppose anyone has any idea why my window is going up and down really slow?

Just replaced the regulator and the first half (from Bottom to middle) is fine but the last half is crazy slow!

                    Anyone else found this?

did you clip the wires into the back of the internal door frame via the plastic clip?
when you installed, did you run the window up and down a few times before tightening the glass clamps? - this might "jam" the window as it goes up.

Where have you been all my life?! Cheers man, I'll double check this arvo.

Don't remember clipping the wires :/

Decided to take a look at my troublesome rear left window reg. Everything works fine...except the metal sinker type thing on the wire was not in the window claw and hence wasn't doing anything.
Since I didn't really know how to fix it I just removed the reg motor and assembly and put in a long bolt where the top bolt went for the window reg assembly. This stop the window from moving at all while everything else is out.

Not sure why, but the passenger window works very well whereas the driver side seems to jump when going up and down.
Hopefully they hold up for now.

I still haven't been able to fix mine. All now work but some are super slow and some are quick :S.

                              I've given up haha

Pack it out with some syrofoam or rags or similar.... driving vibration may damage it if its resting on the glass.

The 'sinker type thing' is a stopper, see http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...n-img_0378-jpg of this thread photos, in this photo its the blue & green plastic bit near the green roller. It locks into the black frame here as there is a recess it slides into.

The infamous 'window jump' = the window clamps may be loose ( the rubbered bits that clamp the glass in) - hope its this as its easy fix. Alt the motor wire is jumping around in the motor spooler drum. see photos on page 1.
