Mate, as an ex-RAAFie, most bases had a car club, with many cars in various states of being rebuilt/modified/etc. Keep the VR6, store it while you go through training, once you have done your training and get posted, just get it shipped as part of your "removal" and join the base car club.

Nah enough of the mk3, I'm going to keep to motor and hopefully use it on another project later down the track. The potential these motors have I just can't give it up

Reminds me of my one, ironically I was slowing down but I will still going 15km/h when they flashed me, while I was braking... Didn't even see the camera from far away until too late so the camera wasn't the reason I was slowing down, coming to a turn was the reason, lol.
Expensive lesson...

think those are about $900 alone these days

Did you ever end up finding a spare set of lenses for your dual rounds? My RWC guy isn't happy because the set on my new car has a crack on the inner right one but I had to talk him out since they are so rare to find.

I did have one guy inbox me because he had a spare set , but at the time I was busy with other things . Otherwise nah they're still cracked , are yours smoked ones too

Not too sure, I think they are the clear ones, My roadworthy guy just passed them after I begged him though.

Got this bad boy out of the impound , they slapped a defect on it the last day it was in there , nothing was said about the turbocharger , but my air filter was loose along with a few other small things , already canceled my rego so it's not really an issue.

This thread will be kept alive as the 12v is going into another car once it's done I guess
