Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Best Place to Buy CV and Axels

    Hello All,

i have firm reason to beleive that my CV is bad on the right side. im not a 100% though.

I have called HSY its just over $200 for the inner and outer CV excluding the Axel.

I wanted to call others for more competative pricing.

    Cheers,
    1996 VR6 Golf

Got entire axle assembly (with CV's) from GAP for $100 a side.
    GermanAutoParts.com : Volkswagen Golf Drivetrain
They also sell OE inner/outer kits if your that keen.

What are the chances lol, i too need a set of cv's. I contacted german auto parts regarding a postage quote but still have not heard back. As far as i could find, their prices/quality was the best. Having called sprints and SCA which were a tad cheaper but don't know the quality.

Let me know how you go.

As is had been said german auto parts are you best bet, it shouldn't be more than $150 for postage, order other stuff that you might need later and it works out much cheaper than buying here in OZ.
