I'm just going off personal experience and what the 'tex says... My single switch didn't work and I had run into a similar problem - sourced a Euro switch and that answered all my questions.

Picture of my switch and the front cable.
Can confirm that the fog switch does turn on the rear fog. Thought it would turn on the fronts too.

That's the outside air temp sensor, use the MFA button on the windscreen stalk and it'll show u the outside air temp.
The one u have on the passenger side I've never seen before, so know idea what it is, could be the same as the driver side one.
Plugs for the foglights can't extend down to the plastic grills below.

...whoops. Saw kits on eBay that used the lower grills as a fog and assumed they got power from these, the connector looked identical. I should probably check what things are before plugging stuff in.

At least the mystery is solved. Thanks.

A work around would be using the rails from the rear fog to power some front fogs, but that could get messy.
Looks like I won't be getting fogs any time soon then.

Use a multimeter to find which pins behind the switch give power to the rear fogs. Then run wires from those pins to fogs.
A few people have done it already.

For those with fog lights from factory, what colour are the wires running to yours?

IIRC there one is green and the other is brown (to the clip)

Alternatively you can check out the wiring diagram for the front engine compartment harness (big round plug above the radiator fans) and sort out your own little fog light harness. They already have the wires running from the headlight switch to that harness plug, just not from the plug down to the dummy fogs. Would surely be less intrusive than running wires all the way from the back!

Yeah, mb1907953, I was wondering how I was going to route the cables from the switch back to the engine bay. I already figured out the cables on the switch with a multimeter and a wiring diagram, brown for ground and grey/white for the rear fog power.

The plug at the front sounds much more convenient and less intrusive.
