Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      Pretty simple, just remove bolts 1, 17, 19 and 23, (look at image) and with a bit of fiddling it should come out.
      Hardest part is pushing out the old bushing and pushing in the new one!

      Re torque bolts;
      -1 to 35nm
      -17 to 50nm
      -19 to 70nm
      - and 23 to 25nm
      and you should be good! hope this helped

        If its a VR6 you will need to release the engine mounts and jack the engine up to get the main bolt out on the right hand side. In typical VW fashion, its too long and hits the sump before you can get it out.
