Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If you get proper hub and wheel centric ones and longer lug bolts then no, you're not going to have any issues. If you buy cheap eBay **** then you may be risking it

Well I'm getting adapters from Adaptec within the next few weeks and they also make spacers. Most of the boys on here swear by them so yeah

Just be aware that fitting spacers on any vehicle that was not fitted with them from the factory (apparently a few porsche models were) is illegal in every Australian state.

Ecstuning, h&r, Adaptec all make quality spacers
You need to make sure they are correct for your car and wheels and are installed correctly. (hub and wheel centric, they actually mount correctly, bolt length, bolt type, torqued correctly etc)

As above, they are illegal in aus, so be prepared for fines/defects from police, void insurance, unroadworthy car and so on
