  • Coilover opinion.

    Hey,

    I own a 98 mk 3 golf cl.

My mate has been trying to convince me that I should lower it. And I finally agree.

I have found some cheap coilovers on ebay and I am thinking about getting them as I don't want to spend a lot of money on it and I realise it's not a race car and I don't need the best suspension in the world.

Has anyone had any experience or advice on cheap ebay coilovers?

Go the cxracing brand on eBay, they are one of the better ones out of the brands on there. I've got them and they're great and a lot of other people agree

      ^ 100% agree.

don't get the JOMs, just don't. Unless you don't want to have any feeling left in your arse and back, just don't get them.

You usually get what you pay for, cheap will is usually nasty.
However the cheap ones often go a lot lower then the likes of kW and bilstein

Hey man, i definitely agree with the CXRacing. Well worth it. ATM i have CX in the rear and JOMs in the front, due to some problems with my CX fronts, and it's not too bad. The fronts definitely go a lot lower. A little bouncier too. But like Dylan said, you get what you pay for.

would the JOM's suffice if I was only chasing a moderate amount of low's??? Will be looking for new shocks by the end of the year so thought that probably just easy / nearly same $$$$ to get some coilovers while I'm doing the job. (and add a little bit of low)
