  • exhaust work?

Hi all, Im looking at deleting the Suitcase on my VR6. Im currently running a complete remus set up including the suitcase itself. Some of the $s ive been quoted to cut out and weld ina foot and a half of pipe is ridiculous ($80 - $140). Anyone on the site a welder or an exhaust dude by chance who can do this for me?
If by chance your in need of a suitcase,im happy tio give yo my remus one in payment of happy to pay, trying to get away with no more than $60 if possible.

    All help appreciated,

how is 80-140 ridiculous? to cut it out, cut a piece of pip to fit, and weld it back in, would take at least an hour, maybe longer, and trades are usually charged at $80+ an hour labour...

it shouldnt take more than 20 minutes if u know what ur doing. a piece of pipe literally 2 shoes long with a small bend. If there was an hour os so's work involved, wouldnt be an issue, the fact is there isnt. What makes the job easir is the way that remus have the piping set up o begin with. Either way, found a local for $60. Did it in 25 minutes, job done. cheers

Yep , there the ones. I must admit great job, reasonable price but must admit, damn louder than i thought, i didnt realise the remus suitcase was so big. i might need to insert a small hand size silencer where the suitcase use ot be just to take some of the drone out. with the remus back box, its damn loud...Its whether the small silencer will make much of a difference or not?

Thanks for the heads up regarding the noise output Tubbs.
I think I will get a small straight through resonator fitted instead of just a straight pipe.
The smal silencer would help, anything would be an improvement over a plain pipe.

Ypou would like to think, still running with cats, etc.. just no middle muffler and still have rear muffler. i was thinking something along the lines of this...

its tiny compared ot the remus suitcase on their, how much of a difference it makes, who knows but surely must make some? its a pitty to chop up the complete remus system but its just not loud enough. the suicase removal makes it too loud, surely must be a way to gain a happy medium? This silencer may still be too small though.
