  • VR6 Colour concept, Are they Rare??? how many in Aus?

    Hi Guys,

Just posing the question does anyone know of how many colour concept VR6 golfs were sold in australia???

i read it was around 200 of them somewhere and but cant remeber if it was a good reliable source i got that info from

also how much extra value does the fact its a "colour concept" vr6 add to the general value of the vehicle $1000??? $2000???

any help will be greatly appreciated cheers

There is a few around, quite rare though. The only differences are the colour matched leather and trim, so they are around the same price.

From the information i was able to get, there are 9 colorconcepts in aus.
the differances are, color coded and heated leather trim, with larger bolsters in the front seats, colorconcept badges, and 6 spoke BBS rims.

That's basically it from my understanding too. A lot of the interior pieces are colour-coded too. Think of it as a luxury trim VR6.

I heard there was 20 colour conceps of each colour. They were not all VR6s though.

I saw a sweet Green one last week, driven by a mad vr6 chick called Elaina. She was at the shop as she snapped an engine mount from spirited driving

I have seen 2 black ones, the green one and a yellow and a red gl at shows. There are also a couple on here.

I've seen a yellow one too, only just a week ago! It was at Uni and had huge polished wheels on it (was moving). Wally aka cOS on the forums owns a black one, MattyT and sukebe own green ones and I've seen a red one for sale at a second hand dealership. This was about a year ago and was going for $8000 @ 190,000ish km.

                Mmmmmm colour concept green

I love mine. I get *SO* many compliments about the colour and the trim, especially from the ladies hehe.

What i've heard is 100 were imported, but only a handful actually sold. No idea what happened to the others.

I've never seen another colour concept in Perth. I have heard there is a yellow one around but it has eluded me so far.

As a special edition of a fairly rare car to begin with, you'd think the paint job + trim would add value but doesn't really. In fact, my colour concept was $7.5k! I've seen many 'normal' VR6's for sale over here for much more.

My understanding is this: 100 Colour Concepts were earmarked for OZ - 20 of each colour, but only 20 (4 of each colour) came in initially. They moved slowly from showrooms as they had a $5k premium over the standard model, and VW decided not to bring in the rest. Therefore, a total of 20 were sold here. I own 1 of the green ones, another lives in Perth, 1 in Melb, and 1 in Sydney.

The interior trim is much smarter, different wheels, heated seats, thats about it I think (oh, and the colour of course!). I have recently moved on to a Bora 4motion so my green one will be up for sale shortly

My heated seats are dead. Cant be bothered repairing them.

Somebody should buy that CC green of yours sukebe

I have seen a yellow one in Sydney, but thats about it, Loon there is one at the car shows you sure its not a VR cause one of the Flat fours members owns a red VR colour concept and usually takes that to shows
