Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Been done heaps of times on here...
Easiest to do with a full vr6 wreck, as you need more than the motor to do it properly. No real point doing it to a 4 door GL, as it would end up costing more than a legit vr6, and wouldn't be as good anyway. A cool swap for a 2 door CL, cabby or vento thoughsigpicComment

Can't say I'd recommend it, unless you have the skill/patience/money/time/space/tools/slightly mad
Check this out, spend the money and time saved on a supercharger kit.
