Hi all, good mate of mine has a mk3 with auto box (vr6 to be exact). When putting into drive, gearbox gets stuck in gear and won't change into other gears. If you put it back into park and the drive straight after... Problem goes away. As you would imagine, needs to do this every time starts car.. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Anyone experienced anything similar? All help appreciated....

How does he drive it when he first starts the car? I had this problem as well. How I fixed it was drive like a granny for the first 5 minutes and let everything warm up. After that you can start driving in a spirited manner.Comment
