Do I need this?

Taking my manifold off today, I noticed a breakage in what I assume is the oil cooling breather?
Please tell me I can just put a tiny breather on the engine side and just block the outlet on the intake..

Either pull it off and replace, repair with silicone or replace with catch can, hose, filter etc. Need to prob run on other side of head with a long hose to inlet port
