Have looked on the internet for info and can find limited stuff about the function of this relay.
I believe it is a buzzer warning relay, but would this effect the indicators and stop them from working?
As background information, for months I had an issue with the buzzer sounding (or what sounded similar to a relay chattering) when i would indicate. The indicators would not come on.... initially thought it was the stalk... but it would happen intermittently... I re-seated relay 36 and the issue went away for months. Then recently when my wife was driving it she said that the indicators stopped working and a trail of smoke rose up from the steering column... she pulled over, vacated the car and called me to come to the rescue. When I got there I figured the relay had finally given up and burnt out... I remember one of the relays being "red hot" to touch but now can't remember if it was 36 or the one above it (maybe 72??).
Anyways... I haven't driven the car since and now want to fix the issue but from the information I have found none of the relays have anything to do with the indicators.
