Vr6 turbo setup help

Don't have that information on hand. Obviously there will be less timing on the 25psi on 98 but 10psi is going to make a ****load more then 1-2psi for an unopened vr, no point trying to compare a VR6 to a EJ207.

On e85 it's up quite a bit more and making over 300atw. Get in touch with MSR if you want to know about making sub 50k cars with equally as much power, quicker times and all the other benefits.

The car will idealy be a daily, I will rebuild the engine so I don't cry later. Im looking for a turbo that will have a little lag but peak out in between mid and high rpm range. I will consider a intercooler since these engines do run hot as f***! I heard mk4 head gasket is better to use? I've never seen a vr6 turbo in melbourne and since I own one I want to show Holden and fords what a vr6 is capable of.

As Seb and Simon have said your budget will determine how far you can go.

There are a few VR6 turbo's in Australia already. For example a bloke in Adelaide has a thread on here and he spent in excess of $10,000 on his build for engine, tuning and gearbox. Don't even ask Simon about his budget haha.

I'd get a metal head gasket spacer to lower compression and use ARP rod bolts and head studs and call it a day. From the reading I've done the 12v engine is good for about 400hp with those few things. The gearbox, clutch, drive shafts, etc probably not though.

You wouldn't run a mk4/metal Headgasket as that bumps compression up. You need a headspacer, readily available from the big names in America.

A na vr6 will eat falcondores. Mine with a few choice na mods, grippy tyres and a perfected holds it's own in tlgp against V8's.

You'll need a large turbo to keep mid range. They are still a 'large' capacity engine and can spool a big turbo.

Rhys laid out alot for his IC setup and standalone; a diy job you could get away a hell of a lot cheaper.

The only 'reliability' measure would be Driveshaft Shop Stage 3 axles for $1000 which will last the power you ever intend to make.

GT3582 with a 0.82 housing is what you are after than. Same as what I'm using, except on a built 3.2 engine.
They start boosting on a 3.2 around 2500, peak boost ~3200. I imagine it would be similar on a 12v 2.8, as although it has less capacity, it's head doesn't flow as much.
Don't bother with headspacers if you are rebuilding the engine, just get some low comp pistons and forged rods.
Please balance the engine

Although in saying that, if you are going to upgrade capacity, (24v 2.8 or 3.2) now would be the time to do it..

A fresh stock gearbox should last you a while unless you race it, as you aren't going to have much traction with fwd anyway haha. At least fit an LSD though.
