Hey guys,
Firstly, a common problem I've discovered with my Mk3 is sometimes the door handles decide to, well, not work. This usually occurs on cold mornings, where as much as I pull and yank the driver's and passenger's front door interior handles the doors just won't open, it feels like the handle isn't even connected to anything. The exterior handles will work, only if I give them a really good pull, and sometimes they decide to not open either! Kind of a big pain, especially when I have to crawl through the back doors to get out of my car! Anyone had a similar problem/know a cause?
Secondly, the central locking system has been working flawlessly upon until about three weeks ago, when the locking function decided to die on me. The car unlocks fine, but when I lock it the pump engages for approximately a minute, before finally giving the 'click-click' to say the car is locked. At first I thought it was a vacuum leak, so searched the lines everywhere to find it, but couldn't find anything. The only abnormality I found was a slight hissing noise made at the driver's door lock. After pulling the door card off and checking everywhere around the locking motor, I still couldn't find a leak! Has my locking motor just shot itself? Again, anyone else had this problem?
Cheers
