headlights brighter as i turn high beams off

hi guys.
On my VR6 i was thinking i could use some brighter lights both for low and high beam, and for it to spread a bit more on high beam as i find it a little hard to see around tight corners when i go for hills runs.
What i did notice is when i switch from low to high beam that the headlights go brighter and was wondering why this was? and if there is a way to modify it and make it bright like this all the time?

mid way through the change between high and low? is probably both high and low coming on together

i had my brother look when i was switching it and he said they both just got brighter.
but maybe i should have looked my self. :/

If you pull the stalk to flash highs and hold it, both lights will be on. This will give max illumination.

I checked this tonight, both high and low beams are DEFINITELY on when you switch on the high beams. The low beams do not turn off when you release the stalk. So that means we have a voltage drop when we release the stalk for whatever reason...
