Can anyone tell me if the Mk4 gear knob and gaiter will fit on a mk3.... My shifter boot and gear knob need replacing... If not, anyone got any other suggestions for a replacement, or happy to share what they have done.
Then I trimmed the knob off old one and re-used the original gaiter. i folded the top bit in and under the gaiter ad its held in with a bit of elastic.
Looks quite neat. I think a lot of the aftermarket gaiters just look weird.
I bought a leather gaiter from Ebay, the guy regularly sells em on there and the fit and quality is great. At only $30 for good quality leather I reckon it was a bargain.

I really like the Momo Anatomical ones. I bought a boot from eBay too (MRGAITER) and it fits OK. I bought the handbrake boot too but that was designed for the American middle console so it's a bit short on ours.
ok guys so the standard mk4 golf knob and boot fits the mk3. but what about the mk4 R line knob.
I know its hell expensive for a gear knob but **** it would look sweet in the VR6
