  • Koni str.t and H&R springs

Hi all, I finally have some cash for suspension upgrade. Got quoted $1180 for the koni's and H&R springs, I can pick them up from the distributor in vic. Is there a cheaper/better option for the price? Don't want to go too low, the roads around my place are shocking. I would like to buy locally so i can get started asap. Cheers.

CXRacing coilovers, cost around $850-900, very decent ride quality up high and down low for their price.
Have a look at the H&R 60/40 cup kits too, ride is probably nicer but not adjustable and cost around the same as the CX's.

EDIT: Just read you wanted local, both of these would be from the US or UK. Postage would only take a week or two though.

The H&R distributor here might have the cup kit... Dunno if they'd be too low. Some savage speed bumps on my street. Any idea how much they'd lower a vr6? The koni's will do about 15mm...

Could do yeah, worth a call.
There's a few different models, Sport is 60mm up front and 40mm in the rear, which would probably sit you at legal height. I think Touring was about half that, so probably more like the koni's.

Locally try Toper Performance in Vermont. They are Koni and Eibach.

Try QUADRANT AUTOMOTIVE SUSPENSIONS for H&R and Bilstein.

            Br racing suspension

            Hi,

I just had a set of BC Racing BR Coilovers installed and could not be happier. Was able to drop my ride by 50mm (it was awkwardly high to begin with).

Adjusting the height on these doesn't affect the spring rate as it's adjusting on a seperate thread. You also have full damper control on each one so personal adjustments can be made on the fly, as well as the height.

Check out centreline suspension in thomastown. I would recommend having a professional install them as they will check out all the bushes and make all the necessary adjustments i.e. camber, toe in, caster angle

An equivalent set of coilovers from germany will set you back well over $2K.

Here is a link BR Type Coilovers :: Audi :: BC Racing Coilover Suspension Kit - Audi A3/TT AWD - BC RACING SUSPENSION

Hope that helps. I was deliberating on all types of setups and this was what I deemed to be the best value and best product.

            Cheers,

            Daniel

Thanks for your replies people. I have looked at uro tuning, can get koni strt and H&R springs with a rebuild kit for $820 usd, which is less than just the shocks/springs here. They use bongo for a us address and shipping. Has anyone used this service? Thanks again.
