  • reverse lights

    I've replaced all the globes and put a new reverse switch in and have checked the fuse and i still don't have any reverse lights. Any ideas. Cheers

      what car? do you have power at the reverse light switch?.. VDUB. .

        It's 96 2.0 8v manual. Haven't checked if there's power going to the switch yet. Is there anything else i should check for

          Start with power at the switch, if you dont have any work back to the fuse board...if you do, bridge the connector that goes onto the switch and see if they work, if they do and your switch is new then fault is in the box..unless your new switch is stuffed...If power at switch and power out of switch when in reverse or via bridging then check back to the bulbs or between...

            this is the backside of my drivers side tail light. am i missing a plug, there's no power going to the plug socket where the globe goes. there is power going to the passenger side but still no light. is it one of those " if one doesn't work neither will ".

            will try bridging the connector for the switch tomorrow. thanks for the help

                  Bridged the switch plug and the lights came on. Later i will test the swith itself but have a bad feeling it's the gearbox. It's still under warranty but really don't wantto have to swap it as everything else on it is good. Is this something that can be easily fixed.

                    would be box out and strip ....make sure the switch is ok mate u might have a dud
