My VR6 has an alarm and immobilizer but there have been a heap of cars going missing from around the western suburbs of Melbourne so I am looking at a tracking device for my car. There are so many different ones out there, after doing some research I think the best option is to get one that hard wires into your car. Most of the hard wired ones that I have found you have to pay an annual fee but I found one that is sold by Jaycar that is only a one off payment of $149. I`m not smart when it comes to electronics and technology so I`m hoping you guys can help me.

From what I see it runs off of a Phone sim card and uses 0.07KB of data every 30 seconds, does this means that I will always need to be putting credit on to it (if you use a pre paid sim)? Is 0.07kb every 30 seconds alot?
Are there any Pros or cons you can see with this unit?
Does anyone here have tracker? If you do let me know what one you are running and what you think of it.
