  • Noisy wheels!!

    Hey VDubbers,

Been having a ongoing issue for about 8 mths now with my rear tyres getting warped and noisy. I drive a 95 CL MK 3.

I have replaced shocks, new bearings, and put on locator rings as car had none. Have performed on car wheel balance and alignments and up on a lift the car shows no signs of having been in an accident. I'm still having issues and don't know what else it could be... I have been through about 3 sets of tyres and mechanics and tyre shops have not been able to give me a straight answer. As you can tell it's been pretty expensive so far...

Anybody have any clues???? Any help much appreciated.

We had a noise from our CL, and it was a rear wheel bearing. But you seem to have covered everything

Wheel bolts seem to be fine. Hope it's not bent stub axles...If it is what sort of damage ($) do think I'd be looking at?....The wheel bearing was replaced on the noisy side and the other one seemed fine. It's like a humming noise which differs depending on speed....

Could still be wheelbearings. Did they fit the new one corectly? Id do both again, they are not expensive. Check the stubs while its apart and the bushes on the axle mounts.

When one of ours went, we had BOTH replaced.
