Help me choose my coils!

Well its finally got to the point where I am going to pull the trigger on some coilovers.

Ive got 3 sets in mind at the moment

Volkswagen Golf III 2.0 > Suspension > Coilovers > ES#11636 Silverline Coilover System - Fixed Damping - FKXVW55
or
Volkswagen Golf III 2.0 > Suspension > Coilovers > ES#250776 Streetline Coilover Kit - Fixed Damping - SMVW8001KT
or
FK Coilover Sport Edition Plus - fit for VW Golf 3 Vento (1HXO) Year 09.91 - 97 - Golf Mk3 - VW - Shop By Car

Price limit is around a grand, and im kind of swaying towards the streetlines at the moment as I dont need the resistance to corrosion that much that the silverlines boast but im not sure about needing adjustable damping the sport editions provide.

So guys if you had a choice of the 3 what would be your top pick and what?

I just bought some off eBay for $930 shipped last week so they'll be here soon and I can test them out.

Check out this thread on Vortex for some reviews of them, most of them are positive!

Cheers guys, well I've always just thought to ignore eBay coils due to them not being a bigger brand, just thought it would be better buying from a store and buying brand. Buy I shall read up on the CX's and see how it goes, from experience any of you guys know if you really use the dampening adjustment? Or is it set and forget?

I had fk coilovers in my car before and they rode very nicely however didn't go low enough for me (had them all the way down) and because they were on the softer side I was scrubbing tyres over every bump so damper adjust would've been nice to stiffen them up a bit.

Foff and Tidy vr6 on here have them and seem to rate them alongside all the other guys on vortex. If I was buying new coilovers that's what I'd get.

Cheers dude, yeah I think I'm gunna either get the streetlines or the sport editions but if you reckon that the dampening is too soft on the streetlines I might go for the sport editions, I currently have a problems tire rubbing so i wanna avoid that at all costs. Cheers mate

Let us know how they go. I must admit I was super impressed with the CXRacings when I had a drive of Bryce's car. But good luck and it will be good to get an opinion on a different set. Thats a risk you're taking so hopefully it comes off! How much delivereD?

Good stuff. In the end as long as you're happy with them then that's all that matters, whether you paid $300, $800 or $3000. Keen to see what you think of the FK's since they made my short list too
