      Would highly recommend doing all of them while theyre out. They look fairly old and they're a pain in the arse to do if they're installed. Take it apart and repack with grease and you will be saving yourself a heap of trouble in the future.

        The 'rubber' part is a Constant Velocity or CV boot. It protects those 'metal parts' which is called the CV joint from dirt and rubbish (plus stops the joint spitting it's grease all over the place). Just grab a CV boot kit for like $30 and chuck it on (may also be a good idea to put some new grease in). Then you'll be laughing.

        Also, if it was like that for a while when on the donor car then the joint itself may be stuffed too. You can tell if the joint is stuffed normally when you turn full lock at low speed and it keeps going clickity clack haha :p

        Edit: It appears I've been beaten to it while writing. Many for your keyboard prowess.
        I forgot they were called cv boots haha derp. Would it matter which kinds ? I'm looking at easiest accessible for now as uk ebay would be the best friend.

        Yeah definitely. Will be taking a crack at this using this diy on vortex;

        VWVortex.com - DIY - Blown CV Boot Replacement and inspection
        VWVortex.com - Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement DIY

        But at the end of this all i need is the abs ring that was "supposedly" the problem as been checked from a blue slip. Should i just take the hub only and replace it or the entire hub with the axle ? At this stage looking at the DIY, i think i might take it to a shop and watch and learn there as i don't have the tools to do this thing as of yet. The CV boot easily but it seems their is more to the Hub/axle. Anyone care to teach ?

          Re: Pmk's green goblin vr6

          Doesn't matter too much which boot. If you just want to pass the blue slip then I'd say just swap the hubs.

          The hub should come free of the drive shaft if you take the split pin out and undo the big nut in the middle. An air impact gun would help as you'll have a hard time doing the one that's off the car. The one on the car you could just use a breaker bar or socket with a pipe on the end if you need more torque.

          Then swap the hubs and see the blue man

                oh must have mistaken it. Already got the bluey but he inspected that this was a problem. But you know with mechanics.. they can be wrong.. as i went to do wheel alignment and they also said i had a bent tie rod on the same side so.. could be both !

                  So it's been awhile since update. Alot of things have happend recently. So i'll make this short and let the pictures do the talking.

                  So what's happend during the last update is;

                  Coilovers. Was suppose to get these in a few days and ended up getting lost in a depot and finally arrived 2 months later.. :twisted:

                  New Wheels. Factory BBS RY. Painted them in acrylic white and i wanted to make them different. So i did the Splash on them. So now they are VW BBS OEM RY Splash Effects.

                  And now how she sits.

                  And also did the suitcase muffler delete. That'll be it for now !

                  Also found out today i've lost 1x BBS centre cap(WTB) and also 2 LUG NUTS with thread !! WTH?!/ If anyone has them close by please let me know !

                                It sounds really nice dude. Loving the sound on the outside. Not much droning and sounds great with the CAI , even gives out a nice backfire when down gearing. Bad part is the cabin noise. Has increased by like 70% at least but i've been dealing with it so it's pretty normal for me now.
