    Hey, again. haha

So i've come to the decision that JOM coilovers off eBay are pretty much my only option, money wise. I just had my car serviced today to make sure everything is OK (as i only bought it a week ago). I was told the Front Struts are weeping and the front strut mounts are torn, so i'm pretty keen to replace suspension ASAP. Does anyone know if the JOM's come with Strut mounts, if not where can i pick a set up from? I've also looked at CXracing coilovers, about $880 shipped, (still a bit too expensive) if anyone has any other recommended cheap brands for coilovers, that'd be great too. Thanks everyone

Can get suspension refresh kits on ECS tuning. Recommend replacing all mounts with heavy duty ones they have for sale. Could also probably get them off German Auto Parts

Thanks mate, i had a look on ECS Tuning, but only have the option for 2.0L Mk3, Vr6 12v or TDI options when selecting my car, are they the same parts for the Vr6?

If so there's the Heavy Duty Upper Strut Mount - Kit for $60 and then there's the ECS Tuning Suspension Refresh Kit - Stage 1 (Heavy Duty) for $205, will i need the refresh kit? Or will the Strut Mounts be fine? Also what do i get for the rears, as i'm not too good with parts. Is the rear set ECS Rear Suspension Hardware/Install Kit at $88?

      Thanks for your help haha

All mk3 mounts will work. I'd get the 12v vr6 heavy duty ones as I'd assume they'll be the stiffest.

Depends what parts you need I guess to what kit you buy (can't remember off the top of my head what's in what kit)

From memory I paid about $450 delivered for my new mounts, filters, plugs, leads, distributor etc for a good service when I had my Vento.

Thanks mate, i'll do a bit more research, make sure i'm buying the right things. Still a bit confused about parts, they look similar to parts i've seen, but not exact, but also the rear strut mounts are harder to find that the front where.. for me anyway haha. Thanks again!

Hey mate, I'm in the same boat as you aha my suspension is shot after 17 years of service. I'm gunna order from awesome gti, they are based in the uk but its a lot cheaper, the shipping is pretty quick too. But this is the bushing kit I'm going to get when I order some JOMs

It works out to about $615ish for the coil overs and bushings shipped to wa.

Thanks for the reply mate, 'Bushing Kit' same as Strut Mount kit? All parts look different :s I just don't want to make any bad buys! Especially from international sellers, haha. I pretty much need a Step-By-Step guide with links on what to buy from where, and be told 100% that's what i need, i've been trying to research for hours, and this is where i'm at!! haha. Thanks again.

No worries dude, yeah I would also like such guide aha but I believe they are the same thing, I have heard many people say you need to replace your bushings as the older bushings will crumble due to the newer stiffer suspension, therefore it is advised you replace your bushings.

                  Hey mate,

That bush kit would be a good idea, but youre still going to have to get your Lower control arms out of the car and get the old bushes pressed out and the new ones pressed in which is abit of work if youre not too sure what youre doing.

Blep, you will need to get Upper strut mounts and yes the ones off ECS for $60 or so are what you need Heavy duty will be better with the new stiffer suspension
You dont need the bush kit but it wouldnt be a bad thing to do but not 100% necessary at this stage if you are tight on funds.

                  Hope this helps mate

Cheers Zale, so are these the strut mounts you mean?

So are they universal or will I need one set for the back and one for the front?

                      Hey mate,

Id go this one as its heavy duty and will last longer with the new stiffer suspension.

Thanks Zalemate, that's helped me a lot. I'll deffinitely be buying both of those so everything is in good working order! I think i've decided i'm going to buy CXRacing coils, as i've read a lot of good reviews on them, and they're still cheaper than most. Thanks again!

So the CXRacing coils don't come with strut mounts? It's $220 postage haha

EDIT: Sent 'em a message, and they don't
