Its about finding that happy medium, many people have found the tt brakes about there, and the suspension is being discussed elsewhere...80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html

why go to all the trouble?
anyone like to "learn me" on something here?
there seems to be a lot of advise to switch to braided brake lines, aftermarket pads, etc etc etc - with the aim of improving brake feel???
lets start with lines. if you add bradied lines, you will make the pedal feel harder, and shorter, so to speak. this would result in (i would say) less "feel" since you will have to use less pedal movement to change your braking force at the wheels - making them more sensitive.
if you really know what your doing while braking, then you'll be moving your foot all over as the surface changes, or theres a puddle, etc etc etc. roads arent race tracks - the surface is inconsistent and wobbly, making brake feel very important - if your brakes come on too fast, then arent you just relying on the abs too much?
secondly brake pads. USE OEM. its simple really.
VW spend a LOT of money formulating the combination of brake rotor steel alloy and brake pad material to provide THE BEST compromise between brake performance, feel and wear.
aftermarket "high performance" pads will nearly always result in either poor wear performance, lousy feel or premature rotor wear.
this is ofcourse my $0.02... but really - your road car isnt a track car. the condistions are different. on the track, you put up with lousy feel and bad wear because you know you can nearly always rely on the surface, and you do need that extra few fractions of a 'g' to stop. on the road... you don't.'07 Touareg V6 TDI with air suspension
