  • props!

i think im gonna get a set of CXs to replace the racelands that have been in for about 5 years (i think).

i can only take so much bounce on the less than supportive leather seats (as a side, are the cloths anymore comfortable?)

im gonna wait till black friday to see what comes up.

was the set you got 10kg/8kg or 8kg/6kg?

    • Hey mate. Yeh ive heard the racelands are fairly shiite in terms of ride. Can honestly say the CX racings have improved my ride from stock. I have leather too so wouldnt know. Haha.

I've got the 8/6kg from ffoff. But apparently the correct ones for a VR6 are the 10/8s

      • i daily'd the vento with it being 30mm off the ground. not a problem, just learn where the bumps in the road are very quickly.

so if you take it down to 100mm (legal limit) and just see what its like

although your's is vr6 and your sump will bottom out before your control arms.

To get as low as you did in the vento you need the 45 series tyres on a 15 like you had too! Most guys on here would be running much larger tyres.

Remember VR6 is heavier than 4 cyclinder. Check CX thread on Vortex. VTW saw you in Heathmont last week car looks so good.

              hahaha cheers.

i saw the ebay listings and they say for both VR6, but list the stiffer set as being RACE/DRIFT.

btw, did the suspension refresh happen with these coils? if so what did you get and where?

              • I was going to do a suspension refresh but found out I already have the R32 rears and poly fronts in the wishbones and I'm feeling stingy atm so I skipped it.... I'm going to do the ball joints and tie rod ends soon though. They're looking pretty average. will let you know how the 8/6s are going after a few weeks. A mate has the 10/8s and theyre fine too. I suspect the 8/6 are just a little more forgiving.

                • Quick update. Did the old Throttle Body clean today. Far out it was so grubby. Car feels far more responsive now and I can run at 40km/h in 5th gear without it struggling.

ECS parts on order! Ended up getting a heap of suspension parts to get it feeling perfect hehe.

                  • Car is up on the stands while I wait for new inner tie rods and a steering universal boot! New valve cover today and new engine coolant temp sensor. Chains are nice and tight

New Fuel Filter! Heaps of black crap came out of the old one. WOuld highly recommend doing this job!

US possibly as they had their repeaters on the side of the bumpers, even Aus dealer delivered parts can end up without indicator slots, that red colour concept you drove had one done (just a carpark ding), and the panel beater cut a new hole for it and used the old bracket, was quite clever.

                          • Small update! Still haven't got around to much cosmetically but I have been chugging through the maintenance work as always.

Chucked in some new Phillips Crystal Vision high beams (still weak as piss, need to figure out how to keep them as bright as when you turn them on or flash)

New o2 sensor today, just for the heck of it. 70 bucks for a new one off ebay so I thought why not. MASSIVE difference to the way the car pulls. I almost can't believe it. Got rid of some lumpiness. Haven't driven it long enough to observe any fuel economy benefits but fingers crossed.

New LED Number plate and parkers.

LED internal lights, no longer have to worry about leaving the door or hatch open by accident haha.

And a new Central locking pump because my old one shat itself and melted the motor plastic. Need to waterproof that rear corner. (Cheers Alex!)

Pretty much replaced everything I can in this car.... haha. So coming up are cosmetics:

Fix up the ****ty peeling clearcoat

                            Montreal 2s or Bora Sports.

Paintless dent repair hail damage.... Bloody brisbane storms.

                            • Another update!

Car got back from the paint shop the other day. Roof repainted to fix the clearcoat and the door spot was spot repaired by blending it into the guard and door. Looks 100x better and generally improves the class of the car. $800 though.... fairly exxy job!

Scored these two items. Can't believe I scored the foggys, absolutely stoked! (cheers joe!)

Started the annual service. Had to remove the oil filter housing to replace the leaking number 8 seal. Fairly straightforward but the seal itself cost 25 bucks! Bloody rip off considering its just a tiny bit of rubber... Full degrease will happen at the same time to get the engine bay looking good again.
