Lighter car, lighter drivetrain etc all mean less inertia so in the first instance off the line it might have a nose... Engine pickup might be a bit quicker in that instant as well but I reckon the VR would be ahead in no longer than a second.
BTW anyone replaced their front dash tweeters with speakers? I know I should be doing it properly and putting in 2 way components up front but I already spent the money on some decent Kicker coaxials and dont plan on wiring in an amp. So any ideas on what fits in those holes? I have some 13cm pioneers but they look really dodgy at the moment as I've done the old cable tie job to hold them in place. Would love something that fits better and doesnt rattle around.
The stock monoblock seems to have been cut out so it appears its wired into the rear speaker output lol...
I'm thinking 3.5 or 4 inch coaxs?? Im just worried the 4 inches might bee too deep or too big for the left hand dash grill?

Everytime i put in a new tweeter there they have always blown out within a week so i just put the cover over it with nothing in there. No point in wasting money imo.
if you have speakers in the doors I wouldnt be putting more spearkers in the dash. Maybe put some tweeters there (I had a set of cheap ones from jaycar in my old car) or just nothing.
But I feel like something should occupy the hole! Did the tweeters have inbuilt capacitors or something? Had the same experience as you smeeb. But then realised that pumping full speaker power into a tweeter isnt how theyre meant to work... haha
