  • Reverse lights not working

For reasons unknown, the reverse lights of my car fail to work when the car is put into reverse or any time at all for that matter. I've checked the fuses and the specification and they're all right, could the reverse switch be broken? If so where is it and is this a difficult job.

    Any assistance would be great.

    Cheers, Branko.

The switch could be broken but more likely the plug has dislodged itself from the switch at the gearbox. My VR6 had this problem when I brought it. The wire retainer around the plug was missing. I fabed a new one from a piece of wire. And it worked...

The plug is located at the top of the gearbox near the shift linkage on a VR6. I'm not sure about a 2.0ltr car. But I would guess it's similar. Good luck...

I've had that problem with the Vento and believe it or not both bulbs had blown.

yeah not uncommon - try simplest things first then bridge the plug and see if they light up , but of course check the bulbs.

                Same thing here.

Reverse light switches aren't TOO expensive if you don't want to fab up a fix on your own, but obviously it's worth checking bulbs first as others said.
