    hi guys

my gf's golf aircon only works with the fan on 1,2 and 3 and turns off on 4 is this normal?

the only reason i have noticed this now is because the fan doesn't work untill you put it on speed 4, i have checked the fuses and all seems good.

so the question is, is there a relay for the fan and which one is it?

or could my problem be something else?

the golf is a mk3 gl

    thanks for your time

so i pulled out the fan switch and tested good, then went to the fan and on speed 1,2&3 i only get 0.6 volts but on 4 i get 12.

So without having to pull the whole dash out to trace wires, can anyone tell me what is between the switch and fan and also were it is located?

On another note i unplugged the passenger air bag and plunged it back in but now the airbag light stays on. Any thoughts on why?

Thanks for your time it is appreciated.

If you unplug the airbags and turn the ignition on, it will register a fault with the airbag. Only way to stop the airbag light coming on is to clear the fault codes using VDCS.

Sorry, can't help the fan switch.

Simple problem, needs a new resistor which is attached to your heater box.Genuine part from dealer is only $120.
