Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Doe's anybody have any pictures of the seats folded down? I will be driving one back from Sydney and was going to buy a mattress to sleep in the boot hahaha just wondering how much space I'd have. Cheers!

Very optimistic haha, fold your seats down in the golf, Vento has pretty much the same hole, except parcel shelf is fixed. Back seats are Golf seats after all (well..with a funky arm rest).

So the hole to the boot is the same size? I know a lot of sedans have a piece between the back seats and boot with a tiny access hole.

I slept in the boot with just the seats folded down in my old vr6 golf with another girl a couple years ago, no matress or anything, and was pretty intoxicated so didn't feel how uncomy it probably was, its pretty tight though, not sure if you'll be able to fit a matress in there haha

+1, I'd suggest getting one of those foam mattresses from Clark rubber or something

Same gap. They're interchangeable with golf seats.
