i've been getting together some bits and pieces over the last week or so, and friday night i stayed back at work and knocked up a little something to let me finish my project....

the 'cooler is out of a pug 405 srdt - it has a weird port on one end where it bolts straight to the manifold on the pug - so i had to make up a flange/pipe joiner so plumb it in - all out of stainless of course, painted in silver hammertone, haha.

yes, i know i know - how will it cool the air when its just got hot ex radiator air going around it? well, thats the next stage -
    - stay tuned for "aydans gee-whiz stainless IC cowling and cold air ducting!"

on the test drive, i've found that even without ducted cooling air, the car pulls harder up to the rev limit than before - but the peak boost is down 1-2 psi since there is now more stuff to push air through. there is a tiny bit more lag as well, but its not much and hardly noticeable - as expected with the small k14 turbo.

the space above the gearbox is really just perfect for the intercooler, and once its all cowled and plumbed it should work like a charm - i'll be installing some mist squirters on it too, for those times when you want the intake air REALLY cold.

best of all, its nice and stealthy...

yeah mate, in point clare - we oughta meet up one day after chrissy.

i am not familiar with the g60 intercooler setup - but i am going with the setup as pictured, with the addition of some ducting and some new pipes.

            cheers
