  • Wheels etc

    Hi all,

I have a few queries that i would appreciate opinions on re my mk3:

    1. I have a set of wheels, 17x7.5 et 25. will this be too much poke? If anyones got any pics of a mk3 with such a set up, it would be much appreciated.

    2. My gear shift lever is very loose. Say if i were to put it in neutral, the gear stick is very loose, it moves very easily as if something is loose.

    any thoughts?

7.5 et25 should be ok. Just depends of tyres, how low you are and if guards are rolled.

Id suggest to check out your gear shifter bushes.

this is all 100% spot on.

        205/40 will be fine.

this is 17x8 +25 for reference, so your 7.5's will sit 6mm in from there.... the front has nearly -3.5deg camber though and running 215/40 rear and 205/40 front...

            Heres my car with 16x7.5 +25 195/40s
In these photos the coils are as far down as possible with helpers and no guard work at all.

It really isn't very aggressive so you'll have no troubles.
            I'd recommend 195s for 7.5" wide wheels.

Thanks Fellas. Unless i've got the offset wrong, when test fitted, they stuck out far more than the pics posted. How can i measure the offset?

I'll post a pic up on the weekend and will appreciate opinions. Do the dynamics change when you lower it?

it should say the specs on the inside of the wheels , something like 17x7.5 ET 25 which is the offset ? well most wheels do

it'll be a bit harder to pull off in 17's.

once you lower it, it will 'suck in' a lil. Might need to look for a 195/40 tyre. and there are always camber bolts.

that fitment is pretty nice, this is mine with 0 camber, 16x7.5 +14 and 195/40's..... with a degree of camber it'd get under the guards no problem
